Sorry, folks. I know it’s been a while, but I still don’t have much voice. I did actually make it to choir today, but I think I overdid it a little… and now my throat feels cruddy again. (And it’s been very damp and hence moldy outside, which is the other part of the equation.) The other woman at work who got hoarse before me — well, she got her voice back and then TOTALLY LOST IT on Friday. So really, it could be worse.
I think that if I get a good night’s sleep tonight, I will be able to do something tomorrow morning for you. So please be patient with my poor vocal folds!
A quick way to get rid of throat infection is to chew ginger. A small bit, the size of a big coin will do.
If you cannot stand strong taste, then boil it in water, and drink the boiled stuff – water and all.
Also drink plenty of water and take Vitamin C: say 500 mg., three times a day, on a full stomach. This dosage is good only if you have an infection. Not for normal daily dose.
Stop drinking the brew when you don’t have any infection anymore. Ginger is a natural antibiotic, and taking too much of it will kill off your good bacteria as well.
When taking much ginger cut down your consumption of all fried or baked food. Neither take mango and other such “oil” rich fruits. Otherwise you get an overdose of “hot” food — the sign of which overdose shall be mouth sores and little pimples.
That’s chinese medicine for you.
