Treatise IV concludes with some advice on how and when to pray.

Lots of practical advice and quotes from scripture. Also, a big passage referencing the common practice among early Christians of praying at the 3rd hour (9 AM), 6th hour (noon), and 9th hour (3 PM). Cyprian also mentions the more somewhat more recent additions of prayer in the early morning and at sunset, and even during the watches of the night. (You may remember the sunset or lamplighting prayer time from Prudentius’ hymn.) These practices have largely died out among laypeople, but survive even today under the name of the Liturgy of the Hours.
