I recently saw a TV documentary which visited Mt. Sinai and the Monastery of St. Catherine of Alexandria which is there. (And their library… swoon!) The documentary didn’t quote Egeria, but they followed the same itinerary, almost exactly, and saw the same sites. Remarkable continuity of tourism.
